Our chapter brings together driven individuals who are serious about growth, academically, professionally, and personally. From connecting with industry professionals to hosting impactful events and creating career opportunities, we focus on building leaders who understand the power of people.

At SHRM, we believe that strong organizations start with strong individuals. That’s why everything we do is centered around preparation, empowerment, and purpose.

Ruth Ortega

"Joining SHRM at HCU completely transformed the way I see myself as a leader. Before becoming a member, I often hesitated to step forward or share my ideas, unsure if I had what it took to lead. Through the chapter’s mentorship, workshops, and hands-on opportunities, I have grown into someone who not only takes initiative but inspires others to do the same. SHRM did more than equip me with professional skills; it helped me uncover my purpose, recognize my potential, and understand the impact I can have both in the workplace and in my community. I now approach challenges with confidence and lead with intention, knowing I have the support and knowledge to make a meaningful difference."

Lyssa Buerano

"SHRM at HCU has been life-changing for me both professionally and personally. Being part of a community of passionate, driven, and like-minded individuals pushed me to grow in ways I never imagined. I have gained confidence in public speaking, learned to present myself with poise, and developed the skills to navigate professional settings with ease. Every event, project, and collaboration has been an opportunity to stretch beyond my comfort zone, and the encouragement from my peers and mentors has been invaluable. SHRM challenged me to step up, take risks, and truly believe in my abilities. It is more than a student organization; it is a family that inspires you to become the best version of yourself."

Andy Soliman

"Before joining SHRM, I did not even know what LinkedIn was or how to put myself out there professionally. I felt lost when it came to networking, building connections, or marketing myself, but SHRM completely changed that. Through attending networking events, engaging with professionals both on and off campus, and learning how to present myself with confidence, I have developed skills I never thought I could have. Today, I have grown my LinkedIn network to over 500 meaningful connections and feel empowered to reach out, build relationships, and pursue opportunities I once thought were out of reach. SHRM did not just teach me networking; it taught me how to define my personal brand, believe in my potential, and actively create the future I want for myself."
